Zion Park District contains over 500 acres of park land. Much of this land is fully developed for active park use. There are 19 individual park sites that range in size from one half acre to well over 100 acres. These various parks contain 14 playgrounds, 11 outdoor basketball courts, 14 ball diamonds, 14 tennis courts, one 9 hole golf course, one 18 hole golf course, an outdoor waterpark, three recreation centers, an indoor ice arena and many others other amenities. A beautiful paved bike trail travels 7 miles around the city and through several parks. For park locations check the park map. For specific park amenities, visit the park chart. Several of the parks are highlighted below.
Shiloh Park
This park located in the center of the city and is the busiest park in Zion. This 80 acre site contains the Leisure Center, the Shiloh Center, Port Shiloh Aquatic Park, Shiloh Golf Course, a large playground, several ball diamonds, tennis courts, three picnic shelters, a sand volleyball court, soccer fields, a fishing pond, bocce ball courts, and horseshoe pits. The park is dominated by a large stand of old growth oak trees and also contains many open fields. This is a very active park!Beulah Park
By contrast, Beulah Park, located on the north end of town, is primarily a nature preserve. The bike trail runs throughout the park and a small playground is set in the only open area in the park. This densely wooded land also contains a historic Native American trail tree. Visitors are invited to take a quiet stroll through these beautiful woods.David Park
This park located on west 21st street contains three ball diamonds (two of which are lighted), four basketball courts, and a playground. 25 acre David Park is very active on summer evenings.
Edina Park
This 54 acre park is situated on the eastern side of town. Edina Park contains dense woods and some open space. The bike trail traverses the park which also contains tennis courts, a playground, a basketball court, a fishing lagoon, and a ball diamond. Its a great place for summer walk.
